The Black Sea resort of Sochi has risen to global prominence after having been awarded the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Situated along 140 km of the coast (the longest city in Europe) and against the backdrop of the Caucasus Mountains, this resort, now commonly referred to as the “Russian Riviera”, has long been one of Russia’s most popular tourist destinations and a truly great sports city.

The city offers countless opportunities for sports: mountain climbing, hang-gliding, diving, sailing, aqua bikes, skiing and much more. The famous mountain resort, Krasnaya Polyana, is located 40 km from the seacoast. In Sochi one can go skiing in the morning and sailing or swimming in the afternoon on the same day.

The undisturbed forests surrounding the city are a UNESCO World Heritage site.

During the preparations for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, Sochi’s tourism infrastructure underwent significant and extensive expansion and renovation. The resulting new accommodation and transport infrastructure provides a modern and tested state-of-the-art tourism environment for visitors.

MAJOR ATTRACTIONS

A dense forest in the middle of a modern city, Arboretum Botanical Garden Dendrariy boasts a vast collection of native and exotic plants. Originally established as a private garden on the country’s picturesque Black Sea coast, this 12 hectare (30 acre) park now protects almost 2,000 species of trees and bushes, brought from virtually every corner of the world. Considered one of the most diverse botanical gardens in the country, the park offers visitors a chance to discover the world’s varied natural habitats without ever leaving Russia. Be sure to take the cable car to the top of the garden’s hill, offering panoramic views of the sea and the Caucasus Mountains.

Sochi Olympic Park is an Olympic Park that was constructed for the 2014 Winter Olympics and 2014 Winter Paralympics. Located in the Adlersky City District of Sochi, Imeretinsky Valley, on the Black Sea (about 4 km, or 2.5 miles) from Russia’s border with Abkhazia/Georgia), the Olympic Park houses the main Olympic Stadium used for the Games’ ceremonies, and the venues that were used for indoor sports such as hockey, figure skating, curling, and speed skating. It also houses training facilities, the Olympic Village, the international broadcasting centre, and other amenities. The park was designed so that all of the venues would be accessible within walking distance of each other. The venues are situated around a water basin containing a fountain known as “The Waters of the Olympic Park”; designed by California-based WET (which also designed the cauldron for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City), the fountain measures 5.3 meters in diameter with a capacity of about 700,000 gallons of water, featuring more than 250 nozzles and jet systems that can create fog and choreographed water displays set to music.

The Sochi Autodrom, previously known as the Sochi International Street Circuit and the Sochi Olympic Park Circuit, is a 5.848 km Formula One permanent race track in the Black Sea resort town of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia.

The circuit is similar to the Beijing Olympic Green Circuit and the Sydney Olympic Park Circuit in that it runs around a former Olympic complex; in this case, the Sochi Olympic Park site, scene of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The inaugural World Championship Russian Grand Prix took place in 2014, beginning a seven-year contract.

Also, the TCR International Series raced at Sochi in June 2015, with the TCR Russian Series and SMP F4 Championship as support series.

Here is one of the highest bungee in Europe and Russia – BUNGY 207 m  and 69 m BUNGY, as well as the world’s highest swing SochiSwing 170 m, MegaTroll length of 700 m, where you can develop a speed of up to 120 km / h. and a new attraction zipline.

In the company of professional guides of the park, visitors can climb the specially designed Via Ferrata (metal structures on the rocky area) in liana cave.
